I loved everything about Scotland except the really LOUD boys with pints roaming the streets until 6am. But I think that was a special case for the Fringe Festival.

I take that back. I loved the boys. Sexiest accent EVER. It was just the roaming the streets bit that got a little tiresome.

oh isn't aulde scotia the most magical place on earth? my family on both sides is very, very scottish, and i spent a summer in college working for a travel guide there. so i was paid to drive a tiny car all over every highland road, navigating the sheep and heilan coos, reading robbie burns whilst enjoying tea beside a loch, taking ferries to skye and orkney and shetland and my o my it's just...magical. hope you're having a lovely time! xo

I've been lurking here for a month or so now, but I am coming out of hiding to chime in with my two-cents (pence?) on Edinburgh. I studied abroad there for a semester in college, and love, love, love the city. I went to church at St. Giles Cathedral (the one with the beautiful crowned spire in your picture) and had class right next door to the castle. I lived just off the Cowgate and walked around Arthur's Seat almost every day. Your post is making me yearn to go back - I'm so glad you love Edinburgh, too!
