Paperwhites, Blues

First weeks back are always the worst. And the new year, somewhat predictably, has me on the blue side of things. Another year gone. There is not even any chocolate cake with caramel frosting downstairs to assuage the weepies this year. But there are paperwhites in my window, tall and reedy and smelling of spring. And there is New York outside, beckoning.

The winter is hard, and you are no hot house flower. The crocus should be back in about 6 weeks to herald the spring, just you wait.

I'm blue too. The first few days of the new year were so shiny and new but now....blue.

hugs to you my lovely, x

Mandadear, hope a little jaunt in the Park or a good old matinee at the Paris might perk you up. And there's always Alice's Teacup for plunging those blues in a pot of hot tea and burying the melancholy in lemon-ginger scones heaped with clotted cream. Do know I'm sending you good energy and love! Xo

it does seem that everything is less snow-bright post holidays. maybe there needs to be a mid-january fete for inviting in less bluesy things?

Prescription: favourite comfortable outfit, long walk.
