Today I would like to go missing for days. My fave stanza from Brenda Shaughnessy's poem "Your One Good Dress," from her sexy collection "Interior With Sudden Joy."
This black dress is your one good dress.
Bury your children in it. Visit your pokey
hometown friends in it. Go missing for days.
Taking it off never matters. That just wears you down.

5 maids a-milking:
A long time ago, when I was home with two young children, I used to wish I could disappear for a week. To a motel. In Portland.
I love Brenda Shaughnessy very much, I also love the idea of going missing for days although that gets a bit Doris Lessing-esque.
I wear the same clothes over and over again and never pick up my phone. Does that count?
Thank you so much for your sweet comment on my blahg. MWAH!
I should go missing for days while I still have the chance.
What is it with Audrey and little black dresses?? Sigh. A big vintage t-shirt = my little black dress
(And I'm with P on not answering the phone. Audrey never answers the phone.)
