Megatron, Megaparsec

In A Wrinkle in Time and A Wind in the Door, which I read six times in the fourth grade, the main character--Meg--is routinely called "Megatron" and "Megaparsec" by her father. I always want to call Meg of A Practical Wedding these things, but then I think I'd have to explain, and think she might find me a little funny, and probably Miss Manners would never condone nicknaming people in their "comments" sections. But now I have confessed this because She, Oh Brilliant Goddess of Practicality, said I have sass. It might only be because she's feeling a little crummy, but I'm blushing anyhow. Hee!

Many thanks for the kind words, lovely Meg. Feel better!

And to any of you stopping by to say hello, Hello! Do leave a couple of your own sassy droplets behind before you go, so I can peek at them in the morning sun and send a little wave your way.

I don't have anything sassy to say. I did go through a somewhat embarrassing Gossip Girl phase a month ago or so (where I mainlined the entire first season in less then a week), and I see that you are also a victim, so there's that. :)

Also, I loved those books.

Wow! Why haven' a read your blog before!? As a fellow practical wedding, cup of jo reading, non-tv owning, NPR and especially This American Life listening fan of pretty things (also searching for my new boots on Zappos)I will definitely be back here. Keep up the good work!

Holla!

Have you ever read the book The Time Traveller's Wife? It's my favorite book! You probably already have but if not, enjoy!

Of course I've read those books, I love those books. I respond to most anything, though at one point my mother drew the line at my father calling me Megadeath.

I do, however, think you'd adore Miss Manners, if you don't read her already. She has more sass and wisdom then should be crammed into one person, not to mention a precision of language that I would kill for. And I doubt she objects to nicknames.

Hi :)

I'm coming here via Meg's blog too and I'm totally in love with your blog already! First Milk, meet Google Reader. :)

Many thanks to you all! I so appreciate the book recommendations (Have read the Time Traveler's Wife, have not read Miss Manners, but will), and the kind hellos. I will visit in kind I soon as time allows. What fun!

Smooches, A.

i was doubtful as to whether or not i should "leave some sass," but then i scrolled down. and saw that we owned the same oversized leaf purse. in grey and yellow. not brown. and i knew: this woman is quality.
